The European Parliament enacts a Resolution on effective labour inspections
On 14 January 2014, the Members of the European Parliament enacted a Resolution
which lays down the principles for effective labour inspections. The text is part of a strategy for the improvement of working conditions in Europe. It recommends, in particular, stepping up the penalties in order to make them effectively dissuasive and thereby enable national labour inspections to play an essential role in risk prevention, especially with regard to fundamental rights such as health at work.
